I think you getting pregnant was an Irresponsible mistake. You are only 16 years old and i'm sure no girl at that age wants to deal with a baby. Especially someone like you who's very outgoing and likes to go out and hang out. You wouldn't have time to care for a baby. You have so many other things you could be doing than having to stay home and care for a baby. You would have to give up so many things to care for you baby like giving up playing in a bad and hanging out with friends to throw eggs. Your everyday routine would consist of raising that baby and your plans would get ruined because you wouldn't have time for other things or simply be to tired to do something other than care for your baby. Once you are sexually active and have someone you like you need to be responsible and use protection because it doesn't just affect you once you are pregnant. It affects everyone in your family financially. It also effects the school and maybe your neighbors.Especially if you don't work. They'll simply just judge you because thats what people do.
You really liked that boy Jack, theres no denying that but, come on you could of used a condom. That fact that you didn't use a condom just shows how not ready you were to become a parent. You didn't make any plans to become pregnant and like your father said," next time on your own terms" Which is true. You should only have a baby once you are ready and prepared being independent and having your own money to care for your infant. It just wasn't the right time to be getting pregnant and having to deal with all those responsibilities. Even though i have seen a girl at an even younger age that you get pregnant. She showed maturity just like you but, not every 16 year old that gets pregnant is as responsible throughout the pregnancy as you were. You showed that you cared for your baby by finding a good home for her and going out to talk to the family. I think your plan of giving up your baby for adoption was very smart on your end. That fact that you didn't give the infant up for adoption makes you a good person and i actually believe you would of made a good mother. You just need to live a little longer and learn how to prevent pregnancy and just be more responsible when you are having sex.
